worumbo falls

when haunted houses go away
where do the nightmares go to stay
as bricks and mortar take the fall
their toxic visions come to call
they find while on their walk about
our spaces filled with fear and doubt
and with the dust that we breathe in
they form a bond with nascent sin
the whispering begins
it isn't long before their strife
becomes well marbled in our life
soon where we had love and friends
suspicion reigns supreme and lends
support to do what must be done
to save us from the other one
who's found her way within our midst
and wants to take what's ours
when haunted houses go away
where do the nightmares go to stay
we find their toxic vision's song
has been inside us all along
