collateral

a little bit preoccupied
it clearly could be said
he'd managed to be captured by
a certain shade of red

warm and open
confident
with innocence and light
mired not in hubris
just a hint of dynamite
and willing to perceive him
as an ally and a friend

and though he couldn't wish for youth
imagination led
to visions in his fertile mind
that kept him smiling fed
upon a sense of helpfulness
and friendship warm and red
