Colorado altitude

breathtaking view
bones of earth broken askew
heaved up and piled bounding the plain
telltale of some seismic mole
headed on a southward stroll

ascending elevations
among fantastic crenelations
breathless
craning neck to capture peaks
in home of elk and big horn sheep

given all this natural splendor
difficult not to surrender
enmity 'twixt all the tribes
in favor of global decree
to save earth for posterity
